Silverband® Rx Antibacterial Wound Dressing Gel
SILVERBAND® Rx Antibacterial Wound Dressing Gel is a water-based gel wound dressing for use in the management of first and second degree burns, wounds such as stasis ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, lacerations, abrasions, skin tears, surgical incision sites, device insertion site wounds, graft sites and donor sites.
SILVERBAND® Rx Antibacterial Wound Dressing Gel contains silver that in laboratory tests has been shown to inhibit the growth of microorganisms such as: Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, antibiotic resistant strains, MRSA and VRE, as well as fungi such as Candida albicans, and Aspergillus niger.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
For the topical management of:
- First and second degree burns
- Wounds such as: Stasis ulcers, Pressure ulcers, Diabetic ulcers • Lacerations • Abrasions • Skin tears • Surgical incision sites • Device insertion site wounds • Graft sites • Donor sites
Sizes:
- Multivalent: Silverband® Ag4O4 complex allows Silverband® to take on electrons from the cell wall of multiple bacteria at the same time allowing for faster cell wall lysis and antibacterial activity.
- Catalytic: Silverband® Ag4O4 complex allows for each molecule to spin off electrons already gained from lysed bacteria and seek electrons from additional bacteria to cause further antibacterial activity. This catalytic activity prevents the molecule from permanently being bound and allows for continuous antibacterial activity.
